When Sawai Jai Singh moved his capital from Amer to Jaipur in the 17th century, he invited artisans from different parts of India to work in the city palace in the heart of the ‘Pink City‘.
In search of good opportunities, the artisans arrived, and many settled with their families in Jaipur itself, never to return. The descendants of these families are still largely involved in their ancestral jobs with a zeal to keep the art alive.
This tour facilitates direct interactions with the artisans for a meaningful insight into the world of brass and marble artisans and bangle makers. From colourful bangles to table-tops, sculptures, flower vases, serving trays, chandeliers, and vases, see the pieces of art come alive.
We have reviewed and chosen only those places where you get good quality and hygiene is ensured. But we still leave the tasting to your discretion. If you want to skip the snacks tasting, we can do this tour accordingly.
This tour is not a full hands-on workshop with the artisans. However, we will help you try a little bit yourself if it interests you.
